Deadlines!!

I had set myself three quilts to make for competitions this year. Two are all done and just need labels. The picture below is the reverse side of the third one.

Originally it was going to be applique but decided to be a trapunto wholecloth instead!! Never done one of these before and of course I have made it difficult for myself by working out a very convoluted design! It took about 20 hours of snipping to trim the batting away. The stitching just got started two days ago.
I have less than a week to finish it, wash, block and bind it!!!!!

Better get to it then hadn't I?

May already

Life has got in the way of quilting in the last few weeks but I have managed to finish a quilt in time for competition this summer. It has taken twice as long as usual as I kept adding more bits to it.

I have just got a new sewing machine too but haven't been able to play with it yet!

It arrived yesterday and as I unpacked it and set it up to have a couple of hours to acclimatise , the weather changed and the thunder started to rumble round. The computer had blown in the thunder the previous day and dented the purse so didn't want another repair bill! Think there are storms forecast for today too! I will just have to read the manual I guess!
Yes it another Bernina! :o)

A lot of thinking going on!

Not sure if it is the season, the weather or just me but I can't seem to get myself into gear to get on with stuff. I keep pulling boxes and drawers out and ratching through them looking for I know not what! I do keep going out and working hard in the garden but this lack of productivity within has lasted 2 or 3 weeks now!

Anyone else feeling like this?

I know it will pass and I will be sewing into the small hours to meet deadlines again soon. Perhaps I just need a certain length of thinking time or a set amount of pressure to get me going?

.
All the entry forms are here for competitions later in the year and a tempting collection of Hoffmans and batiks are on the surface----

so why am I designing and cutting out stencils?

It's okay there is no need to answer that as I can't expect anyone else to explain
