Sewing over the holidays.

Our new grandson arrived safely two weeks ago and is thriving :o)

I have just finished his christening outfit. It was going to just have pintucks but I couldn't resist a tiny bit of lace.
The area between the pintucks of the skirt has his full name and birthdate embroidered on as a continuous band . A few repeated simple motifs and swirls make it just look like a whitework design until you get close up. It all went smoothly apart from one of the buttonholes on the petticoat. It was so long since I had done a machined buttonhole that I had forgotten how to do it!
At least it wasn't on the gown.
