Earth Tremor in Cumbria!

No pictures of it (and not even a story to tell )but apparently there was an earth tremor in Cumbria that measured 3.6 on the Richter scale at 11pm last night.
Its epicentre was just about 4  or 5 miles from us and we never even noticed anything?

I slept through a small one in Cambridgeshire about three years ago (hubby woke up wondering what the noise was, others report their beds shaking) but there was one before that when I was living near Lincoln during the day which just sounded like a huge vehicle driving past vibrating the walls of the house. I might not have known it was an earthquake though I did wonder why my dog went round in circles, bless him. It was then on the news and I put the two together.

We were still up and about at 11pm and Rosie never stirred. If I had thought that I heard a vehicle I would be amazed!

Our lane was washed away into the river in the 2009 Cockermouth floods and is yet to be rebuilt so we don't ever hear any traffic at all!!

Epicentre in Coniston.

We felt it the other side of Cockermouth. Apparently there was one in Wigton on 14th December (but only 0.6 on the Richter scale!)

It shook our upstairs doors and I heard a 4 second rumble in Keswick. We looked out onto the street and saw nothing to worry about so carried on enjoying a welcome glass of plonk.
