On first sight we thought that this was a deflated football discarded in the hedge beside the river. Then we took a closer look and saw the entry hole and the wasps flying in and out.
The nest seemed to appear almost overnight--or we have been very inobservant as we have walked past. The colour has darkened over two days

Wow! The nest has some reallllly interesting texture to it! Cept for it's residents, it would be great to take home! giggle! You did a good job of capturing it on "film" though! Thank you for sharing!
I am hoping to bring the nest home after the first frosts as I understand it will be empty then! Guess I will soon discover if that is true or not!!!
