Late summer

We took the GDs to Allonby which is a tiny village on the Cumbrian coast. The beach is very stoney but when the sea goes out there is a lot of sand. It was a really hot day and there were lots of people there walking and flying kites.
Across the water are the hills of south west Scotland. If you are brought up in this area of England you get used to seeing land across the water whether it is Scotland or the Isle of Man. When you look out from other areas you are more used to vast expanses of water with nothing on the horizon.

It looks beautiful, you were lucky to find such a lovely day and you clearly made the very best of use of it.
