That time of year!

Two postings in one day! :o)

These didn't really go with the violin picture do they? Nights are drawing in now and we had our first frost this morning so it is time to cosy up with knitting and crochet for a while. I have been doing a lot of stash busting with my sewing for the last week but the yarn stash needs reducing too hence the knitting needles and crochet hooks coming out of hibernation.

I think I have enough granny squares for a cardigan here. Funnily enough I wore something similar in the 70s! :o)

It's done!

It only took a week and has nicely filled in time while my sewing machines have been away for their servicing etc.

Hope it fits though I suspect that in the best of traditions it has been made "to grow into".

A long time since I did any of this!

Yes I have actually got my knitting needles going again!!!!

I haven't done any knitting in ages but three weeks of the current cold lurgy has had me looking for something to keep occupied.
My yarn stash rivals my fabric and thread stash and I was beginning to think of passing it on now that everyone is knitting again but perhaps it will get whittled down a little first!

When the "kids" were young they rarely had shop bought stuff so I used to be knitting and sewing all the time.

Of course when you do a lot like that you find ways to make them go faster. I used to make up sort of Aran style patterns that looked quite good but only needed the odd knit stitch on the back of the fabric, all the rest being purl stitches so that as long as you concentrated on the front you could gallop along the back---------if you follow the drift :o)

This latest one is for our little grandson and I find I am doing the same for him as I did for his father ie. simplifying the pattern and galloping!!!
