Beavering away!

I have been beavering away and as well as getting some garment sewing out of the way have started onto the entries for competitions this year.
I do enjoy the "discipline" of competitions from the restrictions on size/fabrics/methods to the tension of the deadline. Not sure what that says about me?
The limitations have made me use fabric/colours/methods that I would probably never have considered before and also to learn so much.
Perhaps it is just the challenge?

Out of the window.

The ground slopes up towards the park railings outside the study window, so any passing wildlife is immediately seen.
Regular passersby include a great variety of birds, bank voles, frogs and rabbits. (Earlier in the blog I have pictures of rabbits on the windowsill!)
Red squirrels and stoats put in an occasional appearance too.
A few times a year we see one of these finely coloured pheasants. Wonder what we will see next?
I am listening to the television news as I type and they have just said that Cumbria has been named the best county in the country to see wildlife. I am lucky enough to just have to sit at the computer and it goes past the window :o)

Keswick and a beautiful sunset.

Just realised how long it is since I blogged last!Been to Keswick today as it was so bright and sunny.
There was a dusting of snow on the hills and a beautiful sunset on the way home.
