The river is high but nowhere near as high as we have seen it before excluding 2009 of course. As you can see at the upstream end it has reached the top of the new wall already !
We have insisted all the way along that our wall was higher than this and the extra row of blocks should be going on next month. In the meantime we are looking at the bite that the river has taken out of the road where our wall stops and our neighbour's property starts.
If any more collapses we will be back at square one and be unable to get any vehicles in or out.

My dear Rosalind,
I listened to the news and thought Oh not again! Now my fears have proved to be true and you are again under threat from our weather. Thinking of you and hoping all will be well for you and all those around you in your neck of the woods. Congrats on your win at Sandown a bright star in your life, it was beautiful.

Thank you:o)It is lovely having the support we have had.
When I see those that have had the water and worse through their houses our problems seem minute. In many ways it is the time and unnecessary expense that our repair has taken that gets us down. It was a relatively simple job that could have been done properly in 2010 rather than still needing work in 2012.
Wearing----but again nowhere near as bad as having your house flooded and losing all the contents.
I have been thinking of you during this dreadful weather. Lets hope we have seen the worst of it before they finish their work.
Congrats on your Sandown win. I didn't get there this year ((and probably won't again now we have moved)).
Hi Sally,
Thank you:o)
To be honest until last weekend I was feeling relieved that we had missed the weather that had been hitting everyone down south. Shouldn't have counted our chickens should I?
:o)))
