First Baby Bunny of 2007

At this time of year I say "Ahhhhhhhhhh" like everyone else.

Later in the year when the flowers get eaten and lower branches bitten off I call them lots of different names!!! :o) Posted by Picasa

Quilting at last

This quilt has been a UFO for long enough so the machine quilting is started. King size quilts really make your shoulders ache even with plenty of support. Wonder what the hinted at new mid arm Bernina will be like. It sounds very tempting at the moment! Posted by Picasa

Spring is sprung??????????

The first crocuses are showing their colours in the park and the daffodil flowers are beginning to show too.
It is lovely to see the sunshine after all the dull damp weather we have had!

I know this sketch is a repeat but-------

I have put it in again to save you going back to search for it :o)

I drew this from a printed invoice from the nineteenth century. It shows our house on the right and the watermill and factory on the left. It would have looked pretty much like this when Robert Louis Stevenson, the author, stayed in Cockermouth. He later included a description of his visit in his book "Essays on Travel".
His walk along the river is still pretty much the same.
You can read what he said at:

First birthday.

My miniature Yorkie is one today.

This is her sitting in a favourite spot ie. behind your neck perched on the top of the back of the computer chair.

She arrived instead of a bunch of flowers on Mothering Sunday last year.We have always had bigger dogs so her size was a shock, plus our preconceived ideas of Yorkies as snappy yappy little dogs. Not true with her as she is sweet natured, friendly with all and barks about once a fortnight!

Think she is keeping her black and tan colouring too rather than getting the silvery blue that is the more usual colouring. Posted by Picasa
