I don't know about other Yorkies but Rosie just hates getting up in the morning!
These pictures were taken at 10.30 in the morning and she had been in her bed all night. As you can see she is still yawning when she wakes up.She commandeered my red shawl when she was a tiny pup and seems to be able to keep herself underneath it all night.
When she first gets up her hair is very rumpled. It gets combed through every day before we go out as it gets knots in it like human hair. I didn't realise before we got her that Yorkshire Terriers have hair rather than fur which means that it just keeps growing . Because we live along a lane where she can get quite muddy we don't let her tresses get too long. The hair doesn't have an undercoat next to the skin which is why Yorkies feel the cold so easily. The upside of this is that they don't have a moult like other dogs and also people that are allergic to dog fur can usually tolerate a Yorkie.
Rosie has completely altered my previous views of Yorkies as yappy, snappy little lapdogs! She is friendly with everyone and adores children, never snaps and only barks about once a fortnight!
