The road home.
This is the view of Cockermouth as you enter from the west with the Cumbrian Fells all around. The weather forecast seemed to be rain everywhere but we have had strong sunshine all day.
Up to 18 months ago my parents lived in Waberthwaite over on the coast near Bootle before they moved back to Yorkshire. I love Cockermouth it's one of the Lake District's hidden treasures - so much nicer than Ambleside, Kendal or Keswick. The Bird's Eye Narcissi down by the river are my favourite part of the town :o)
